Chipper Jones Shares Greg MADDUX's Pitching GENIUS - YouTube

They don't call him the professor for nothing. And nowhere's Gonzalez. He's got to work on his stuff here. And Bobby sent Leo out to tell Maddux that he wanted to walk Gonzalez. Louie Gonzalez hit Maddux pretty good. Dog's like, nope, not going to do it. He goes, what, what? He goes, give me two pitches. I think I can pop him up to third base. He goes, I'm going to throw him a changeup down and away. First pitch, then I'm going to throw him a cutter. Middle end, and he's going to hit a pop-up and a chipper. And we're going to get out of this inning. So sure enough, he throws him a changeup down and away, ball one, cutter in. Got under this one a little bit, pops it down the left-field line. And I'm standing underneath the popup, just thinking, you have got to be kidding me. Caught it, inning over. Bobby and I look at each other, and we— unbelievable.
